“Your son, Mike, is a patriot and hero in every sense. His brief life demonstrated the wonderful capacity of the American experience, as well as the great cost required to maintain it. I am as grateful to him as I am proud of him for his selfless service to our country.”

Hello-
This is a little awkward for me as i dont know quite how to go about this but
about a year after the 9/11 attacks, i was getting updated on my local news
through the internet. i used kobtv.com for updates on new mexico news as we
live out in the country and their is no cable and at that time, satellite stations
had not yet provided local network stations to their available stations.
so it was at this time that i was getting my news and i read an article from
a lady that did these "memory bands" for the family and victims of
9/11. the bands were $20 (i think) anyways, you could choose what band you wanted
whether it was from the twin towers, any of the flights, pentagon or operation
enduring freedom. being that the military runs strong inmy family, i naturally
chose OEF. The day of my band arrival was some what a bitter sweet moment and
yet i had this anxiety knowing that i would be wearing this band in memory of
someone who had lost their lives fighting for our cause. as i opened the box
i saw the name on my band....."Johnny "Mike" Spann.
I will tell you that i faithfully wear this memory band everysingle day. There
is not one day that passes that i dont wear the band, I wear this band more
then my wedding ring! This may sound kind of foolish, but there are times that
I "talk" to Mike and let him know how things are going. I have had
many, many people enquire about the band and i give them a brief history of
what i know about mike and his family. I just wanted to let you know that i
wear this band daily and think of mike often, even though i didnt know him.
One thing is for sure, that I would of love to have met him.

Just returned from Iraq.
Going back soon.
Mike, you set a standard that hasn't been set in many years. Your sacrafice
is the truest meaning of the phrase SEMPER FIDELIS. You lived a life of sacrafice
and courage. I take great pride and honor in wearing into combat the same EGA
that you wore when you served. Thank you for your sacrifice Mr. Spann. God has
one more Marine guarding his gates. Semper Fidelis Mike!

I am a 16 year old High School student living in Tennessee. It's been my goal for quite some time to become a CIA operations officer, and when I read about the courage and integrity of people like Johnny Spann, it only fuels my desire more. I cannot convey the feeling of pride I get in knowing that we have men and women such as him serving our country. I wish I had some words that could convey my sympathy for his loss, but I don't. All I know is that he is undoubtedly one of the most incredible men I have ever heard of.

To the Spann Family;
I too mourn your loss. Although, I never new Mike, in some ways after reading about him I feel as if I did. I find we have common ground with respect to our Military Service, Christian foundation and desire to make a difference in this world. I feel it's my loss that I was not fortunate enough to have personally known him.
I am grateful for this website that I can email you and share my sentiments. I feel it is heaven sent, as I have been thinking about Mike's ultimate sacrifice and your families loss, especially this (Christmas)week.
I too have a desire to join
the CIA and continue where he left off. Believe it or not, in his absence he
has fueled my desire to join the CIA.
I also served in the military,(7 yrs in the USAF)and have a loyalty to my country
and want to be a part of fighting this war on terrorism. I am originally from
NY, so the events of 9/11 are especially close to home. I remember reading an
article on Mike in the Sunday news, "Parade" insert, on how he lived
his life and his strong faith. I use to think that working for the CIA and having
strong Christian morals would be a conflict of interest(Viewed as religious
conflict of interest/not objective). After learning about Mike I realized I
was wrong. I too have a strong Christian foundation based on firm morals. My
journey to pursue a career with the CIA has been activated since I realize it
is no longer a conflict. I am currently pursuing an MA in International Security
and have applied to the CIA. I will be pursuing a career with the DO. My personality
is Ops all the way.. Like Mike, I enjoy being a part of the action. I intend
to pick up where he left off and continue to run with his torch for life and
freedom.
Ultimately, the the purpose of this email is to let you know, though time has passed he has not and will not be forgotten and his legacy lives on. He continues to impact people's lives. Although I have never met him, yet he has encouraged and inspired my desire to seek a career with the CIA and to erradicate terrorism to the best of my ability by taking an active roll against these acts by joining the world of Intelligence and Operations.
Shannon, you could not have honored him more by describing him as an honorable man not by his death but by his life. You're an incredibly strong women and he knew that.
Take care, God bless your family and know that Mike lives on and will not ever be forgotten.
Respectfully,
Diane
PS: You should consider writing a book about his life and his faith. I know
it will inspire so many more people

Dear Friends,
I just wanted to let you know that we had a small memorial service for Mike
Spann in Mazar-E-Sharif on September 11, 2003. Ten of us soldiers made a special
trip to his memorial to pay tribute to his memory and to pray for his family.

I truly wish the Spann family all the best in life. Your personal sacrifice for all of us in this country who enjoy freedom is greatly appreciated. As a former Marine I was especially drawn to Mike Spann's story, and his life serves as a testament to the values he cherished. I will remember his sacrifice, he was truly an American Patriot.

I was born in 1972...named for a helicopter pilot shot down in Vietnam in 1969.
I sat in anger on 11 September 2001 as my meeting room at the Pentagon was destroyed by a jetliner. My anger became seething as the body count from that day was totaled.
When Mike Spann was killed...I wept. I didn't know him personally that well, but knew him very well because we were very much the same. I wept tears of anger, tears of loss, and tears of pride.
When John Walker Lindh was pampered and pacified by the liberal media and the left-wing academia in my country I became steel. My blood ran cold that this was actually happening in my country...in Mike's country.
When my President became attacked for his decision to invade Iraq...when my Agency came under fire for so-called "faulty intelligence"...I decided I had enough.
I will be returning to Iraq next week to finish the work that Mike Spann started in Afghanistan. I carry his name with me on my lips and in my heart.
As I kiss my daughters Emily (age 9) and Kaleigh (age 4) goodbye I know it may be the last time. I also know that if I choose not to...then it might be them on the next hijacked plane. It might be them on the street when poison gas is released. I will not let my children grow up afraid to enjoy the freedom that I grew up with. And I will not let Mike's children grow up like that either.
God bless each of you.

Mike is my second cousin. My grandmother and Gayle are sisters. I am a bit younger than Mike but remember the family get togethers in Florida, as well as times Tanya, Tammy and Mike visited Texas. I watch Fox News religiously and I cannot begin to explain what a wake up call it was for me, personally, to see Mike's picture on every major network. Ironically enough, it not only brings great sadness to our family but great pride as well. I feel honored to share the same blood with Mike Spann. I have chosen to add Auburn University as a potential graduate school choice in public administration on behalf of Mike Spann. I will continue to make this family proud as he did. He has set an unbelievably high standard and I thank him for setting it - he has renewed a lifelong ambition in public service.
God Bless,

Having lost a few friends as a law enforcment veteran, I am touched by what I saw here. Too many Americans have no idea as to the caliber of men we send into harm's way. The nation owes Mike Spann and his family enteral gratitude.

The life of Johnny “Mike” Spann should be a model of the life all Americans should lead. Love for family, love for God, love for country, and love for justice. many Americans, I have tought about and prayed for Mike and your family these

some American soldiers will be lost. May their families take strength in your

photos of Mike is the one where's he on the horse in Afghanistan.
I'd like you to post that if possible on the website, and make it available

As a former soldier, who
never faced combat, I hold deep admiration and respect for those who have. And
I am profoundly digusted by people like Lindh who turn against the country that
gave them so much and against all the brave heroes who shed their own blood
to ensure the freedom of Americans. In the world of wishy-washy liberals where
there is no right or wrong, no black and white only shades of grey, the death
of this hero along with the capture of a traitor, presents an indisputable portrait
of loyalty vs. betrayal, dishonesty vs. truth and dishonor vs. integrity, valor
and patriotism. Because of brave men like Mike Spann I didn't have to go to
war. Although, from what I've seen and read of him, it would have been an honor

To the family of Mike Spann
I was very moved by the words I read describing the life and values of Mike.
I wish we, as parents, teachers and leaders would teach his value system, his
love of man-kind and his love of freedom and democracy to our children, and
for that matter, many adults. Most of all, I was touched by his selflessness
and unyielding desire to act for the greater good. I thank God for people like
Mike who gave, and sacrificed, so much so that I and countless others can live
in freedom.
I also thank Mike’s parents for raising such a wonderful son and fellow human being; how much better a world it would be if we all took to heart the same sense of decency, sense of humility and service to man and country that you instilled in Mike.
To Mike’s wife and children, parents and sisters – I am sorry for your loss, and ours. May God always bless you all with His loving-kindness.
Sincerely,
Harry Herskovitz

Mike Spann is a patriot who gave his life in the name of freedom. As a 16 year-old, many of my peers look towards sports figures and actors for heroes. I look no further than to people like Mike Spann. His dedication and commitment America and our way of life are a source of great inspiration to me.

Mike was a friend and a true American hero. Actually, he was a WORLD hero! I will never forget him and will never let my friends forget him either. There is a lot to be said for growing up in a small town like Winfield, Alabama with the ethical and moral values that can be instilled into the lives of our heroes. May God bless Mike's family. Dr. Bobby Roberson ("Doc")
I'm proud your Mike was an "Alabama boy." Thank you for sharing him with us. Your memorial to him is a beautiful thin and I believe it serves the purpose you meant it to. I pray God continues to give you the strength to continue to shoulder the terrible burden you have been dealing with and our country the strength to face the terrible things we must deal with. JG, Randolph, AL
I didn't know Mike personally, but his acts of heroism make me so proud to be from Winfield! May God bless Mike's family.
I hope your grief can somehow be alleviated knowing that Mike Spann is a hero to us all. He gave it all for God and country and I, for one, will be eternally grateful. If I could wish one thing for my children and grandchildren is that they would have the courage and integrity of Mike Spann.
May God continue to bless you and your family! Mike Spann represents the best of this country-someone who was willing to pay the ultimate price because he wanted to serve his country and do what others would not do,go where others would not go in order to keep us free. His spirit lives on though he is gone from this earth. Even though I can't tell him in person,I still want to say,"Thank you for your sacrifice,Mike.I will always appreciate my freedom because of people like you." KH,Alabama
It's September and it's been a year since the attacks and I still feel what little meaning my life is,compared to what changes those who lost loved ones on 9-11 and to the Spann family for loosing someone I can say, "I admire".It is coming close to November a year marking Mike Spann's death. My heart and gratitude to him and all who serve our country & especially to his wife, Shannon, will always be with me.In some ways I know the Spann's will know how we feel, either through these readings or through our strong love for country and patriotism. Thank you, Mark Lorenz Massachusetts
Mr.Lindh, was giving his blessing ,to a 16 or 17 year old boy, to seek his own morles and faith;while we were still raising our kids. Mr. and Mrs. Lindh are responable for this traitor, and should be jailed, also. I went to school with Johnny Spann, and my children went to school with Mike.We taught our children to love God, family and courage, and I am so proud of each one. My son, Joel, servies our county in the U.S.C.G. and we honor him for his satifies. Johnny and Gail love and honored Mike, and haved suffered behond words. The Spanns" gave everything ,and our goverment ,let them down. A traitor, is a traitor! Johnny Spann should get to speak at the, so called, sentencing! Shelia Fowler Winfield, Alabama
I knew Mike through our high school days.Even though he was a few years younger than me ,I felt like, he look up to me and my friends. I have been in the mitary for over 16 years and was proud to hear Mike had join the mitiary. I was even more proud to hear that he was in the CIA. I was deeply sading to hear that he had been killed in the latest conflict. Now I find myself looking up to him. Even the sacerfices that my family and I has been through,I will contiune to to serve my country and to follow the oath, that I have taken. But ,I have a big problem ,with the out-come ,of one of the people( Walker Lynn) that took my friend's life. We need to back our people because, our people are backing us. Joel Dillard , USCG
Growing up in Winfield has been one of the biggest blessings of my life. Knowing the Spann family has been another. Watching Mike grow into a terrific young man has left me with some outstanding memories etched into my mind and heart. I hope people hold Mike up as an example to their children and friends. Smalltown Christian values produce heros for the real world. May God bless you all. Gerald Hamric Former Winfield resident Former United States Marine Current American Airlines Employee

Thank you for sharing Mike's incredible life with us. As a former Marine, I am proud to walk among brothers of such dedication to family and country. His work is not yet done . . . he will continue to inspire the vast many whose lives he has touched; we will carry on the fight for righteousness and freedom with his memory embedded in our souls. Semper fidelis. - A Marine.
I am a fourteen-year-old who attends a very liberal intellectual school in Boston, and I remember that last fall, as the war in Afghanistan was beginning, most people my age were either opposed to the war in Afghanistan and could not quite explain why or were entirely ignorant of it. Most of them oppose the military, the government, and ost anything respectable, and look towards entertainment figures as role models. I was probaly like them too, to a certain extent, until I began to read the newspapers regularly at the time of the Qala-i-Jangi prison rising, when Micheal Spann died. His death changed me entirely. I can think now of no person whom I respect and admire more than Micheal Spann, for his commitment to his country and government, and I aspire to follow a career in intelligence as he did. Wesley Morgn
To the Spann Family, My name is Jeffery Hearn, and like Mike is am a Marine. I went through the Basic School a year prior to Mike and was an Infantry Officer. I'm out now and have kept up, for obvious reasons, on world events. I just wanted to say that although everyday must be hard to face without Mike, and nothing will ever fill the void. I hope that you all take solice in the fact that there are people like Mike willing to face the challenges he faced. He is a hero and I wanted you all to know that his country thanks him for his service. Semper Fi.
RIP your dead hero. From a friendly Englishman.
Mike Spann's memory, story and inspiration live on. I just returned from Afghanistan, and what a difference a year makes. Thanks for starting it, Mike. You are now a legend.
You and your family should be proud of the impact Mike's life had on his countrymen. While some people still don't understand the nature of the enemy we now face, and concoct lies about Mike's actions in Afghanistan (see the Oct 29, 2002 posting), the mass of us are grateful for his service. As for Mr. Walker Lindh and his ilk, we will never forget what you did and you will pay for your treachery in this life or the next. Count on it.
A year has past, but not forgotten. I will never let the memory disappear and my children will know of his courage and honor. It is an honor to know that I grew up with someone of his character and heroism. May God Bless! Hal Holland - Vestavia Hills, AL
I went to school with Mike, only breifly. My family owned the Sonic there in town. Mike was a wonderful person. Mike and I were friends from the first time I met him. He was always there when there was a "major crisis" in my life. Now looking back, the "major crisis" aren't remembered, but the friendship was. Mike will always be in my heart and my prayers and thoughts are always with the family. Mike you will never be forgotten, but will be missed by all. Pamela "whitfield" Dinger

Hello, your husband was a great man. Ever since, he was killed I have became interested in his career and basically his life story. Please, do not think I am crazy. It is amazing how somebody so young and at a stage where we are supposedly not thinking about tomorrow. However, your husband lived his dream. Lots of people can not say that. Reading about him and your family is just remarkable. Please, Mrs. Spann know that there are people out there who would have done anything to do what your husband did. Make sure your kids live everyday and never let a day go by they regret. Again if I could turn back the clock instead of worshipping athletes I would have worshipped true heros like your husband. I am an athiest, however I do care. My heart goes out to the Spann family and the your kids. They are going to be very strong human beings after all of these tragic events. Be proud of them.
I recently applied to the CIA for a position in the Directorate of Operations. Yes, 9-11 certainly played a role in my decision to do so. I wrote my personal statement in my application before finding your site. It is uncanny how Mike Spann's personal statement mirrored my own thoughts on what it means to be a good, proactive person of high ethical standards, one ready to lead when others cower. Don't think that many American's don't care about what happened to Mike Spann. It's been written on your site many times, but I'll write it here again: he selflessly gave his life for his nation -- a true hero.
This comment is to Mrs.Spann. You dont know me and you will probably never read this but i want to speak my peace on this issue. All i have really ever wanted to do in life was join the CIA i never told anyone this except my mother and grandmother untill now. I want to be just like Mike Spann one day everything he did in the CIA is what i dream to do one day. I try to look things up about mike and what he did and his past tranning etc,etc but there is not much of it as everyone knows. I know this means nothing to you but i have many clippings on this issue and one that i have is of you at the funneral holding your new born next to director tenet. It is one of the few things in life now that makes me sad, but i also see in your face that you are a warrior just like Mike... I only hope one day to be blessed with his spirit and yours to guide me threw to his job in the CIA.. If you ever read this know that someone out there wants to be just like Mike... and i mean Mike Spann.. Dusten Lassiter 21,,, 3/505 Ft. Bragg NC..... May God and the CIA show me the light.......
John Walker Lindh does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Mike Spann. It is people like Mike Spann that allow the rest of us to enjoy all the freedoms that come with being American. Thank you to Mike Spann....WE WILL NEVER FORGET!!!

In this day in age when us young people do not have many people to look up to I am safe to say that I have found my role model. May God bless him and his family. Raul Picart Martinez, California
Having lost a few friends as a law enforcment veteran, I am touched by what I saw here. Too many Americans have no idea as to the caliber of men we send into harm's way. The nation owes Mike Spann and his family enteral gratitude. God bless you, Mark Trower
God Bless, Ashley Neil Farris
Mike Spann is a hero who epitomizes the ideal of selfless service to America; an ideal that I hope to live up to in my life. I have been truly inspired by the life of Mike Spann, and by his love and devotion to his family and his country. The United States of America is the great and powerful nation that it is today because of talented and brave men like Mike Spann. -Hank M.

My name is Danny Collins. I'm a 1977 graduate of Winfield High school. Mike spann died because he chose to live by the sword. And its true, those who live by it, die by it. Let this be a lesson to those who choose that path. Our government is up to alot of no good these days. People, do not believe everything you hear. There is a snake in the garden of Eden. And his name is George Bush. Danny
I had the pleasure of meeting Mike's Father in Huntsville, AL at a very patriotic ceremony honoring Mike and the others from Alabama who have been killed recently defending our freedom. My nephew, Pvt. Kelley Prewitt from Birmingham, AL, was killed in Iraq on April 6, 2003, so our family is grieving also, just as the Spann family still is. Our hearts go out to them and the families of the other heros who died in the name of freedom. May we all have peaceful healing. Jane Tarpley Arlington, VA
Talley Griffith
I never met Mike, but it is people like him that make our country what it is today. Anyone who is willing to put their life on the line to protect everyone back here is a true hero. He is in my heart, and in the hearts of everyone in America. God Bless Mike and the family.

Hi, I knew Mike,Kathrine and Alison in Oklahoma. We lived in the apartment below them. They were very dear people to me and my family. I was shocked to find out what had happened. I really don't know what else to say except that Mike died doing what he loved to do ,serving his country and fellow Americans. If we all were like this, this nation would be even better. thanks, Bill Fix (former PFC US ARMY)
Thank you for the opportunity to read of Mr. Spann's life and values. It gives me great hope to know that the difficult and lonely tasks on the frontlines are in the hands of men and women like Mr. Spann. Just as we will never know of all his selfless work you will never know how grateful we are for his work, his family and all of your sacrifices. Thank you again and my prayers will be with all of you for years to come. Zach Elliott Portland, Oregon.
It's very difficult for one to browse through this site and not shed a tear. The unneccesary loss of human life is always a tragedy, however words cannot describe the loss of Mike Spann. His life should serve as an inspiration to all those who unabashedly believe in the idea of America and our Constitution. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Respectfully, Arvind Radhakrishna
Mike Spann served his country well. He gave it all. We will never forget you, Mike, where ever you are. God Bless the Mike Spann family. Gladwyn Joseph and family. Canada.
I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free and I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me and I gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today 'cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A. I wish I could've known my third cousin, but it gives me a good sense of pride to know that I am related to a true hero. By the way, can I get a picture of him to submit to the Troy Wal-mart Supercenter's wall of heroes?
Dear Friends, I just wanted to let you know that we had a small memorial service for Mike Spann in Mazar-E-Sharif on September 11, 2003. Ten of us soldiers made a special trip to his memorial to pay tribute to his memory and to pray for his family. God Bless, Chaplain Orville A. Jones orville.a.jones@us.army.mil
Sometimes when I see people around me, so self absorbed, so oblivious to what is going around in the world, so selfish, it makes me proud to see that people like Mike Spann still exist in this world. To the Spann family: you have every right to be proud of Mike, he is a role model of what a young person should aspire to. God Bless Mike H. Chicago

Mike Spann is a true American Hero. He is a hero because of sacrifice. Not the sacrifice of his death, but the sacrifice of his life -- his willingness to serve his country. Perhaps the biggest shame is that America would not have recognized the sacrifices of Johnny Micheal Spann has it not been for his "last full measure of devotion" to his country. -Pete Mitchell Co-Author: Modern Day Heroes: In Defense of America
To the Spann Family; I too mourn your loss. I too have a desire to join the CIA and continue where he left off. Believe it or not, in his absence he has fueled my desire to join the CIA. I also served in the military,(7 yrs in the USAF)and have a loyalty to my country and want to be a part of fighting this war on terrorism. I am originally from NY, so the events of 9/11 are especially close to home. I remember reading an article on Mike in the Sunday news, "Parade" insert, on how he lived his life and his strong faith. I use to think that working for the CIA and having strong Christian morals would be a conflict of interest(Viewed as religious conflict of interest/not objective). After learning about Mike I realized I was wrong. I too have a strong Christian foundation based on firm morals. My journey to pursue a career with the CIA has been activated since I realize it is no longer a conflict. I am currently pursuing an MA in International Security and have applied to the CIA. I will be pursuing a career with the DO. My personality is Ops all the way.. Like Mike, I enjoy being a part of the action. I intend to pick up where he left off and continue to run with his torch for life and freedom. Respectfully, Diane PS: You should consider writing a book about his life and his faith. I know it will inspire so many more people.
Thank you Mike Spann for your service to our country, you are a true American hero who took a stand for something he believed in and made the ultimate sacrifice for this great country.Rest in Peace.
Remember, never forget, nerver... Mike thanks for fighting for our liberty. Jean-Paul Ney www.leconfidentiel.com

To the Spann family, I had just E-mailed to you on the site, but I want to post my comments here too. I went on the highway in Winfield,AL. where you dedicated a section of US 78 to Michael Spann. I saw the signs during a road trip to and from the West coast. It was one of the more moving moments of the trip, for I'm remembering a dedicated soldier and hero. My prayers go out to you and your family. Preston L. Moreaux, Fayetteville, NC
THANK YOU MIKE FOR YOUR SERVICE AND FOR PAYING THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR ALL OF US. GOD BLESS YOUR PARENTS, WIFE AND CHILDREN. SALLIE F. WILSON W. MELBOURNE,FLORIDA
Dearest Virgin Mother, pray for Mike Spann's soul.
I discovered this website on 8 Sept 2004 and felt compelled to write a little down on what I thought Mike meant to us a Marine and a friend. I served with Mike at the 2nd Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company from 1996 to 1998. We went to a JRTC rotation together, spending 2 long weeks in what I would consider the worst stretch of rain I have ever seen. We took our Airborne PFT's together and generally did those things that two Marine Officers did while assigned to the same unit, we became friends. What drew me to Mike was his mental and physical toughness, not something out of bravado, but a quite toughness that you know a person possesses just by being around them. I think what Mike meant to me and to the Marine's who served with him can be summed up in a verse from the Good Book that I would like to share with you: "Greater Love hath none than a man who lays down his life for his friends." Mike willingly gave his life for his family, his friends and his country and I know in the instant of his passing he heard the sweet words of our Lord, "Well done thou good an faithful servant". I have thought about your son , husband and father, so many times and I have said so many prayes for him and you. I know it was a great loss for you and it was also a great loss for our country. I do not understand why President Bush let the American enemy combatant ( which he was a Saudi ) go and all he had to do was to give up his American citizenship and denounce terrorism. I don't know what the President was thinking !! What about your son and all the Soldiers and Americans that have given their lives for us in this war? Now I read and heard on television that John Lindh Walker is using that for a precident, wanting to get out of jail. By law I guess it could be a precident, after all the President of the United States did it. But I think your son was a hero and I don't think that Americans that were fighting against our troups should go anywhere. I am going to contact my representative and also tell anybody that will listen to me how wrong it was to let the saudi go back to his land. He can have a full life there and if it is considered a precident, Walker might get out. Is Mr. Bush our President or a worker for the Saudie's.

Shit happens! Get over yerselves! Its 2005 for fucks sake.
I have worked with a few people in the same area of employment as Mike. I just wanted to send you my warmest regards and my thanks. A British Special Forces Member.
I feel so angry when i hear comment's that demean America's role in trying to rid the world of this terrorist scourge that threaten's all our futures...Sacrifises made in war for this noble cause should be supported by all freedom loving countries and those fallen heroes should be remembered always...the USA has always risen to the challenge brought to it's shores by individuals who want to bring darkness to our world...we should always find the strength to offer support to countries and individuals who will make a stand no matter the price or sacrifice to themselves....men like Mike Spann will always be remembered for the ultimate sacrifice they make so we may live our lives in a manner of our choosing...The USA will always be a beacon of freedom and democracy to the world as we travel into the unpredictable future, only a few men seem able to gather the necessary strength to meet head on the challenge to secure all our future's.
