Johnny Mike Spann - America's first casualty in the war in Afghanistan.

Everyone's place in society and the world is different.

Each life can start out similar and veer off in totally separate directions.  What makes one life different from another is experiences, character, ethics, and a sense of social empathy.  Here is the story of one life and his chosen path.  Written by his family it bars no doors in honesty, pain, and the love for one now forever lost to the world.

"I believe in the meaning of honor and integrity.
I am an action person who feels personally responsible for making any changes in this world that are in my power...because if I don't, no one else will"

about
Mike

America is free due to heros like Mike Spann - CIA agent killed in Afghanistan.

"He led one of our teams into Afghanistan, then under the sway of a dictatorship aligned with global murder," Tenet said.  "There, he tracked the authors and allies of terror.  There, while fighting for the future of the American people, he fought to bring a better future to the Afghan people.  And it was there, one evening, that he said he would gladly risk his life if he could help make the world a safer place for his wife and children."
- George Tenet
CIA Director

"Mike has always stood for love of country.  Even as a young man he was proud of his country and his flag.  I know he would never regret giving his life for America - the land he so loved".
- anonymous

"Mike is a hero not because of the way he died, but because of the way he lived.".
- Shannon Spann - wife.
